Instant Algae© is a non-viable algae product, meaning that it cannot be used
to start a culture. However very few aquaculture applications need microalgae that reproduces, and there are several
advantages to having a non-viable product:
- Stable nutritional profile - live algae constantly need
nutrients (plant fertilizers) to remain healthy, but these nutrients are not normally added during the feed-out
process so the nutritional profile rapidly falls off. Instant Algae© does not need nutrients so it maintains the same profile in your refrigerator or in your tank.
- Super High Rotifer Concentrations - With live algae it's difficult to get densities higher than 1-2,000
/ ml. With Instant Algae© it's easy to get concentrations in excess of 5,000 and many hatcheries
exceed 15,000 / ml. For more information about high rotifer densities click

- Easier to Capture, Faster Feeding - Some algae like Tetraselmis move rapidly, so your animals use large
amounts of energy to capture them. Instant Algae© is non-motile, making it easy to capture and consume. The conserved
energy increases both growth and survival rates.
- Excellent Suspension, No Fouling, No Clumping - Unlike powered feeds, Instant
Algae© will
stay suspended the water column for 1-2 days with minimum circulation. And since the cells are intact they
will not stimulate growth of bacteria.
